Compounded Liraglutide GLP-1 Injections Now Available

We are excited to announce that Mitchell’s Drug Stores is now offering liraglutide injections.

Liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist that can be used for treating type 2 diabetes and controlling weight. Liraglutide is a type of drug known as a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It mimics the GLP-1 hormone and can prompt the body to release more insulin, which may reduce blood sugar. Increased levels of GLP-1 can also send a signal to the brain prompting it to feel that the stomach is full. The following are a few of the functions of semaglutide:
  1. Blood Sugar Control: Semaglutide helps lower blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin release in response to meals when blood sugar is high. It also reduces the amount of glucagon (a hormone that increases blood sugar levels) released by the pancreas.
  2. Weight Management: It can help with weight loss or weight maintenance, as it slows down gastric emptying and reduces appetite.
  3. Cardiovascular Benefits: Some studies suggest that semaglutide may have cardiovascular benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke in people with diabetes.
